Bureau America's Cup

This fantastically beautiful desk has its origins in a remarkable event from 1850. The Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes, United Kingdom, organized a prestigious sailing race in which sailing clubs from around the world participated. Four members of the New York Yacht Club accepted the challenge and built a magnificent schooner named America. Against all expectations, the Americans won the race and they named the trophy after their sailing ship. Thus, a legend and myth were born that continues to thrive to this day.

This impressive desk, inspired by the American style, enjoyed great popularity on the East Coast of the United States at the end of the 19th century.
